HOW TO PREPARE PRP – PROCEDURE
Step 1 – Clinical Blood Collection for Biotin PRP Preparation
Remove the PRP tube with Biotin from the bag. Wipe top of PRP tube with a clean alcohol swab prior to blood draw. Following accepted blood collection guidelines, draw the patient’s blood into PRP tube from a peripheral location.

How to prepare PRP? Step 2 – INVERT TUBE
• Invert PRP tube(s) 7 (seven) times to mix ACD-A anti-coagulant with the patients’ blood and biotin.
• Wipe the top of the tube with a clean alcohol swab.
• PRP tube with biotin to be processed within six (6) minutes after blood draw.

Step 3 – Centrifugation Protocol for Maximum Platelet Recovery
SETTINGS: TEN(10)MINUTES; SPEED 1900 RCF
Power on centrifuge and open up the lid. Place PRP tube(s) into individual tube holders in order to achieve a balanced load within the centrifuge. Place tubes across from each other or use counterbalance, as appropriate. Close the lid.

Once the centrifuge completes its cycle, carefully remove the PRP tube. The tube should now show a clear separation between the red blood cells at the bottom, the platelet-poor plasma at the top, and the platelet-rich plasma in the middle layer.

IMPORTANT NOTE!
Do not confuse RPM with RCF. 1900 RPM on a small centrifuge may not be enough force to separate platelets effectively. Use the RCF (G-Force) setting on your device to ensure clinical-grade PRP.
CAUTION: If you have your own Centrifuge, please follow manufacturer’s Instructions for Use for the centrifuge.
a) Centrifuge carriers and inserts should be of the size specific for the tube used.
b) Always allow the centrifuge to come to a complete stop before removing tubes.
c) Counterbalance tubes will be required to balance the weight of the tubes during centrifugation. When using a counterbalance tube, place the balance tube with the same weight as the filled PRP tube, opposite of the PRP tube.
d) Once the centrifugation spin cycle has stopped, open lid of centrifuge and examine tubes for any breakage or leaking prior to use.
Step 4 – Extracting Biotin-Enriched Platelet-Rich Plasma
Remove PRP tube(s) with biotin from centrifuge tube holders. Extract PRP or PPP from the tube depending on your needs and injected to treated areas. As you extract the PRP, the tube naturally mixes the biotin into the plasma, creating a nutrient-rich solution for scalp injection.

CAUTION: Do not insert the needle into the separating gel. If needle comes in contact with the separating gel, discard the product.
• Alcohol swab the top of the PRP tube.
• Invert PRP tube
• Insert sterile syringe to a long needle (e.g. 18Ga x 1.5 inch)
• Insert long needle through the stopper
• Aspirate the PRP into the syringe.
• Once you transfer the PRP into the syringe, it is ready for use.
