The shelf life of PRP + HA tubes is 24 months from the production date when stored correctly.
To maintain platelet integrity and HA stability, tubes should be stored at room temperature (20–25°C) in their original sterile packaging and kept away from direct sunlight, heat, or moisture.
Why proper storage is important
- HA (Hyaluronic Acid) can degrade when exposed to high temperatures.
- Platelet stability depends on maintaining a controlled environment.
- Sterility must be preserved until the moment of blood collection.
Recommended storage guidelines
- Store in a dry, temperature-controlled area
- Do not refrigerate or freeze the tubes
- Keep them in the sealed blister pack until use
- Avoid leaving tubes in cars, windowsills, or treatment rooms that fluctuate in temperature
How to check expiration
- Every IPPOCARE tube has a printed manufacturing date and expiration date
- Expired tubes should not be used for clinical procedures
- Clinics should rotate inventory (FIFO: First in, First out)
Does improper storage affect PRP quality?
Yes. Exposure to heat or humidity may affect the anticoagulant, gel performance, or HA viscosity. This may lead to:
- lower platelet recovery
- suboptimal separation
- unpredictable clinical results
